Kiss, Hug, High 5

So I wasn't able to document this with a picture but I had to blog about it so I don't ever forget. When Charlie was going off to school today and the bell rang for him to get in line, Oliver cried after him. Charlie turned around and ran towards him. They embraced in a big hug, kissed on the lips and then high fived each other. It was the sweetest send off I could imagine. Brotherly love at its best.

Fall Fun

We have had a lot of fun this Fall. Have been to a couple farms, Lookout Farm & Sawchuck Farm. I also decided to host a Halloween Party for my childhood friends and their kids. It was a blast!

Charlie Turns 6

All he wanted was an Army themed party - and that's what he got. Complete with a Tank Cake - made by yours truly :) it was mostly family that came, but he invited 2 of the neighborhood kids, Brendan & Annabelle, as well. It was a fun afternoon!

Keeping the streets of West Roxbury safe

So I babysat Audrey and Courtney this morning. Charlie was in school so it was just Oliver and the girls. They really wanted to play dress up and once they were in their costumes asked if we could walk around the neighborhood. It was the cutest thing ever. They were little buddies saving the world. Thank goodness for cousins.

We are now Boston residents

Well we closed on our new home July 29th. It's in West Roxbury (Bellevue Hill). The past several weeks have been a complete whirlwind, but I feel like I'm finally coming out of the fog. The house is beautiful, the neighborhood is lovely, neighbors are SUPER friendly and the kids have started school! We are really loving it all. A special perk is being so close to family. Noni, Grampy and the rest of the Hall gang are able to come to Charlie's soccer games and any other little thing we have going on. The boys have been able to really get to know their cousins Audrey & Courtney (and so have I). It's been really special. Auntie Jess was our first houseguest which was so fun. Grandma Laird came not too much later and Papa & Eggie arrive tomorrow. It's actually Charlie's 6th birthday today! Noni, Grampy and Rah Rah just left - we had an impromptu birthday dinner at our house. Charlie was over the moon. His dinner request was mashed potatoes with gravy & fish sticks. He had that and the rest of us had my homemade bolings. It was a fun night!

Oliver turns 3

This day was one that I won't forget. Oliver woke up excited for his cinnamon rolls and a few presents from Jeremy and I (all bought at the dollar store I might add). Charlie bought his brother some Silly Putty which I think was more exciting for him than for Oliver. Family came over in the afternoon and it was just so great to have the cousins playing together. Aunt Lynn and Cousin Mike came too which was extra special. Oliver wanted a Paw Patrol them and the cake came out great! We had a big game of kickball in the backyard and the adults were more serious about it than the kids! All in all it was an unforgettable day ❤

We finally moved!

Well the kids and I have moved to Massachusetts and Jeremy arrives today. It feels totally surreal! The kids and I have been keeping ourselves busy....with the beach! What gorgeous weather we've been having!

Visit from Papa & Eggie

2 weekends ago Papa & Eggie came for their last visit to our home in Arlington, Virginia. We were so happy that it lined up with the same weekend as Charlie's dance recital. He has been taking a dance combo class where he does ballet, jazz, and tap. He is the only boy and there's about 12 little girls but he doesn't mind one bit. We also used this weekend as an opportunity to celebrate Oliver's 3rd birthday a little ahead of time. Papa brought delicious cupcakes!

Preschool graduation

Well my oldest is now off to kindergarten! He had his own personal graduation ceremony at Mount Olivet Preschool today. The rest of the class will graduate next week but we will have moved to Massachusetts! It was so special to have Noni and Grampy in town to celebrate with us.

Spring is here

It's about time I get my act together and write another blog post! Life has been very very busy with us getting our home ready to sell. Jeremy's working on transitioning to a new firm which has been quite stressful as well. The boys have been rolling with things which is nice. We took them to Baltimore this past weekend while our realtor held open houses both days. Keeping our fingers crossed for an offer soon :-)

Snowzilla

A huge blizzard hit the DC area and we got over 2 feet of snow. We were essentially snowed in and Charlie didn't have school for a week. We made the most of it by playing in the snow! The boys enjoyed that snow till the bitter end!

Ooooops

So I've been out of touch for a while. Time to get back on my blogging game. A lot has happened in the past couple months so I'll just try to do a quick recap. Thanksgiving came and we celebrated with Papa and Eggie. As soon as the holidays arrived we were very busy. We headed to Massachusetts for a couple weeks to celebrate Christmas which was really fun. Grandma came to visit us here in Virginia for the new year and we celebrated daddy's birthday. We took the boys ice skating and Charlie did great!
