Zoo fun

Well Noni and Grampy arrived yesterday and we are already filling the time with lots of activities! We went to the zoo this morning and it was a complete success. Certain animals that we rarely see up close and personal were out and about, like the cheetah and the panda bear. There was also a very cute tiger who was really excited about his first experience with face painting!

Bye bye crib

Well on his 2nd birthday exactly, Oliver climbed out of his crib. We have since (in the 3 days following) taken off the side of the crib, making it a "big boy bed." I was so sad to see that crib go - I love the prison that is the crib! Now we are dealing with his climbing out over and over and over....I know it's a phase and it will get better, but GOLLY I AM TIRED! The first night in his big boy bed we had a date night planned and Auntie Jess was babysitting. She got our guy to bed with no problem! Yay for her!

My baby turns 2

Well Oliver turned 2 today 😔 kind of bittersweet. Jeremy got home from NY early enough for us to have a cake together to celebrate. As you can tell from the pictures, Oliver adores cake! My favorite picture is of him eating his entire piece in one bite...but at least he's using a fork!

Bathtime is the best time

My kids love bathtime. I was happy to get a couple of good shots tonight. I'm realizing that the bath is getting too small for these long legged boys ❤

Charlie's Promotion Ceremony

Well Charlie had his first (of many) graduation ceremonies in his life. He's headed to the 5 day kindergarten prep program at Mount Olivet preschool. Even though he was feeling under the weather, he was still his hammy self on stage.

Bound to break

Well one of my kids finally broke a bone. Considering how clumsy Charlie is and how rough Oliver is, I can't believe it took this long! Charlie fell off the bed and broke his forearm. He hardly cried about it and was so tired (as it happened right before bedtime ) that he told me he just wanted to go to bed. When I looked at his arm and realized it was deformed, I knew we had to go to the hospital. He was a real trooper and needed very little pain medicine. When he was all splinted up, he asked the orthopedic resident if he wanted to come over our house for a playdate. As we walked out of the emergency room he turned to me and said, "well that was fun!" God bless that kid!

Cheeky Oliver

These are some great, recent shots of my naughty but very sweet Oliver. The last one is of him mesmerized by the original movie "Annie." I gave him a man bun and he hardly flinched!

Ragnar Cape Cod

Rebecca convinced me to run Ragnar Cape Cod with her this year. Unfortunately she had an ankle injury so she couldn't actually run the race but she was our fearless leader nonetheless! My mileage totalled 18 over 24 hours... And that was with one hour of sleep. Ironically it was Mother's Day weekend. I really felt like a tough mother runner! I also got to come home to some lovely presents from Charlie 😀

We love Aunt Chi Chi

Jeremy's Aunt Nancy came to visit this weekend and we had a lot of fun. The boys call her Aunt Chi Chi :-) she's beautiful and fancy! We had dinner out at Del Campo....it was amazing! (As a side note, I got my hair colored for the first time in my life) Charlie had his school's Spring Fling and had a great time! Oliver loved the cookies...shocking :-)
