Well one of my kids finally broke a bone. Considering how clumsy Charlie is and how rough Oliver is, I can't believe it took this long! Charlie fell off the bed and broke his forearm. He hardly cried about it and was so tired (as it happened right before bedtime ) that he told me he just wanted to go to bed. When I looked at his arm and realized it was deformed, I knew we had to go to the hospital. He was a real trooper and needed very little pain medicine. When he was all splinted up, he asked the orthopedic resident if he wanted to come over our house for a playdate. As we walked out of the emergency room he turned to me and said, "well that was fun!" God bless that kid!

Cheeky Oliver
These are some great, recent shots of my naughty but very sweet Oliver. The last one is of him mesmerized by the original movie "Annie." I gave him a man bun and he hardly flinched!

Ragnar Cape Cod
Rebecca convinced me to run Ragnar Cape Cod with her this year. Unfortunately she had an ankle injury so she couldn't actually run the race but she was our fearless leader nonetheless! My mileage totalled 18 over 24 hours... And that was with one hour of sleep. Ironically it was Mother's Day weekend. I really felt like a tough mother runner! I also got to come home to some lovely presents from Charlie 😀

We love Aunt Chi Chi
Jeremy's Aunt Nancy came to visit this weekend and we had a lot of fun. The boys call her Aunt Chi Chi :-) she's beautiful and fancy! We had dinner out at Del Campo....it was amazing! (As a side note, I got my hair colored for the first time in my life) Charlie had his school's Spring Fling and had a great time! Oliver loved the cookies...shocking :-)

Catch up
Well life has been pretty busy for the past couple of weeks, so here are a few highlights the happennings in our fam :) Cherry blossom season has begun in DC - it's just so beautiful! Jeremy and I ran the 10 miler and couldn't have had nicer weather or more beautiful blossoms! Soccer season is also back - and as you can see, Charlie is a happy guy! I still can't believe how big he is?! Oliver continues to grow - both in size and personality! He is a willful little boy! God help us! We had a lot of fun this weekend with friends and family - it was great weather so we were outside for most of it!

Big brother tricks
Easter Sunday
This year we had no plans whatsoever for Easter Sunday. It was liberating in one way but felt kind of weird too. The kids were very excited to see what the Easter Bunny brought them...mostly for the candy. Charlie and I went to church together and he was such a well behaved boy. He did have to take a bathroom break during the homily...that kid loves to go number 2 in public restrooms. Odd I know. Both of the boys didn't mind getting all dressed up like little southern gentleman. The only thing they were missing was the accent! We had an egg hunt in the backyard, played on the bouncy house and enjoyed the beautiful spring weather :-)
Easter Saturday
We had such a fun filled and busy Easter weekend that I have to do two separate blog posts. One for Saturday and one for Sunday :-) Cherry blossom season is finally kicking off in DC. To celebrate we went to see a Japanese performance downtown. It was a lot of interpretive dance and rhythmic drumming. Charlie enjoyed it but Oliver was a little frightened...until the end when he could try out the drums. After the show we went to Capitol Hill to meet Auntie Jess for lunch. That afternoon we were invited to an egg hunt by one of Charlie's classmates named Grace. It was a really fun time and Charlie had a blast with Grace. Oliver woke up from his nap a little bit grumpy, in case you can't tell from the pictures. He cheered up once Charlie gave him an M&M.
